Introduction
Welcome to Relative Recall (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and transparency. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information in relation to our website and services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
To provide and improve our Service, we collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect information such as your name (optional), email address, and a hashed password.

E.g., “We use essential cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes.”] If you use analytics, mention it here (e.g., “We may collect anonymized usage data to help us improve our service.”).

We use the information we collect for various purposes, including to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our Service.
- Process your subscriptions and payments.
- Allow you to create, manage, and share memorials.

How Your Information Is Shared
Your privacy is fundamental to us. Here’s how information sharing and visibility work on Relative Recall:
- Memorial Visibility and Access:
- Memorials created on our platform are primarily identified by their unique web address (URL).
- Memorials may be discoverable through our search function if the name associated with the memorial is known.
- Direct access to specific memorials is also facilitated by unique Memorial Access Codes (PINs) and QR codes generated for the memorial.
- The extent to which a memorial is viewed by others depends on how its URL, name, Memorial Access Code, or QR code is shared or found.
- Please note: We currently do not offer explicit user-controlled settings to mark memorials as “public” or “strictly private (PIN-only)”. The current design relies on the methods of access described above.
- No Advertising or Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal information or the content of your memorials to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
- Our Team’s Access: Our operational principle is to minimize access to your personal data. Our team will not view the content of your memorials unless it is strictly necessary for providing technical support at your explicit request, to investigate potential violations of our terms of service, to protect the security of our platform, or if required by law.
- Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (e.g., Stripe) and cloud hosting and database services (e.g., Supabase). These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide these services to us and are obligated to protect your information.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend our rights or property, or protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
Your Control and Choices
You have control over your information on Relative Recall:
- Access and Update: You can review and update your account information and the content of memorials you manage through your account settings or dashboard.
- Account Cancellation & Deletion: You can manage your subscription easily. Should you choose to cancel, the process is straightforward, typically requiring only a couple of clicks. You may also request the deletion of your account and associated memorials by contacting us. Please note that some information may remain in our archives for a limited period as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (like accounting for past subscriptions).
Data Storage & Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect it from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Our platform is built on reliable infrastructure (such as Supabase) that employs industry-standard security practices.
However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold if stipulated by local laws, e.g., 16 in the EU for GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information from our files.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
